East Timor is a country battered by war and destruction. Since gaining its independence in 2002, the country has been rebuilding its physical infrastructure and social fabric, however there is still much work to be done and many Timorese people continue to live in poverty. In 2011, Damascus College Ballarat conducted its inaugural Immersion Program to East Timor during which $11,000 was distributed to organisations in need. In June 2012, Damascus College will embark on its second Immersion Program to East Timor. Fundraising is underway to collect much needed funds to distribute to their sister school Santa Maria College and other organisations. Can you help?
